Manchester United and Dan Ashworth continue towards further reinforcing the squad in future transfer windows. Despite a summer of massive investment, the Red Devils will know that there are areas in the squad that still need reinforcement.
Back in the summer, the Red Devils were linked with a transfer for Everton center-back Jarrad Branthwaite but were eventually priced out for his transfer.

In the last few days, Man Utd have yet again been linked with the one-cap English international.
Now, as per The Daily Mail, Man Utd have suffered a blow as an unlikely competition in Liverpool are prepared to make an offer and hijack the signature of Jarrad Branthwaite, despite his obvious Everton alliance.
United are not in a position to compete financially for the signature of the £70 million rated star until the summer of 2025 and Liverpool are looking to take advantage and wrap up a deal as soon as they can to bring the talented defender to Anfield.
However, it is quite rare, to see Liverpool approach a player who plays for Everton. It is a divide that most players don’t cross but it seems like Branthwaite is ready to antagonize the Goodison Park fans by making the move to the Red side of Merseyside.
Manchester United, having signed both De Ligt and Leny Yoro in the recently concluded transfer window don’t necessarily need to sign another central defender. There are other areas of the squad that are crying out for reinforcement.
Should Liverpool pip Man Utd to the signature of Branthwaite, so be it. It remains to be seen how the future pans out for the 22-year-old and let’s see where he plays his football in the seasons to come.
