Manchester United have had an awful start to the Premier League campaign despite a truckload of reinforcements in the summer.
With three losses from six games so far, Erik ten Hag is under immense pressure to keep his job.

Last night, the Red Devils got outclassed by Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur. They went down to ten men at around half-time but even before that, the Australian tactician completely outdid his Dutch counterpart with the way he set Spurs up.
Defensively, the Old Trafford outfit were in shambles. One player that Man Utd to sign in the summer is Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. The Red Devils were willing to pay up to £60m to sign him but the Toffees did not accept the offer.
Now, as per Football Insider, Manchester United are set to press to try and sign Branthwaite in January. He might have been injured so far and could take time to settle into the new season but the Red Devils don’t want to wait.
Everton have insisted that they want around £90m to sell him. They view him as one of the brightest English talents going around as of today but they would know deep down that it is unlikely they get such a fee.
Having just signed Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt in the summer, one really cannot explain how much sense it makes to sign another central defender for big money when there are so many holes to plug in the squad.
The issue with Man Utd seems more to do with their goal-scoring and chance creation than defending and spending money on Jarrad Branthwaite isn’t really warranted.
Let’s wait and see what the board thinks about the same and if they make a transfer happen for the Evertonian in January.
