Manchester United are struggling on the pitch with Erik ten Hag’s tactical setup not getting the best out of the players in hand.
The Red Devils are especially struggling in midfield with neither Casemiro nor Manuel Ugarte impressing so far.
News – Report – Man Utd submitted £46million offer to sign £57.8million star
With just three wins from 11 games across all competitions so far this season, it comes as no surprise that Erik ten Hag’s future at the club is far from certain. However, this hasn’t stopped the club from being linked with potential transfer targets.
One player linked with a transfer to Man Utd is Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodrigo de Paul. As per Fichajes, the Red Devils can close the operation with a ‘strong offer’ which would see the World Cup winner arrive at Old Trafford.
Should Man Utd sign Rodrigo de Paul?
An industrious midfielder who can play a number of roles in midfield, Manchester United could do with a player who plays with unbridled passion. Rodrigo de Paul is not the most technical midfielder there is but he adds a lot of quality to the overall squad.
The La Albiceleste star currently earns around £107,000 a week at the Rojiblancos. The 30-year-old is a good short-term bet for the club, especially considering Casemiro is unlikely to stay beyond this campaign. He is a crucial part of both his club and the international team and not without merit.
One issue that Ten Hag or any other manager might face with De Paul is that, sometimes, he goes through phases of poor form during which his game is very poor. The lack of technical ability accentuates the flaws during such times.
If Manchester United can look past these minor blips, they will be making a transformative signing in midfield. Only time will tell us how this transfer saga pans out.
