Although it looks like Manchester United had wrapped up their squad for at least the first half of the season with the arrival of Manuel Ugarte and the departure of Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay, the international break has prompted the Red Devils to be linked with other players.
With the transfer window already shut, the only way the Red Devils can make new signings for the squad who can join immediately are through free agents. One player that they have been heavily linked with is Adrien Rabiot.
Transfer – Man Utd moved in to sign £42million attacker before deadline – Report
As per HITC, one other free agent has piqued the interest of clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Man Utd are clear to agree to a £5.2million a year deal to sign out-of-contract Turkish midfielder Yusuf Yazici.
The attacking midfielder is currently available after his contract with Lille expired at the end of last season. He was most recently seen in action for his international team, Turkiye at the European Championships.
Predominantly an attacking midfielder, the left-footed 27-year-old is also familiar with playing from the right side of attack or as a false-nine.
He isn’t a prolific goal scorer but a good option to have in the squad for rotation. Yazici has been offered to Man Utd and wants a deal worth £100,000 a week.
Should Man Utd sign Yusuf Yazici?
Once labelled by Ozil as an ‘incredible talent’, Yazici’s career hasn’t panned out as one would have envisioned.
Despite Manchester United’s interest, the club should steer clear of this signing and rather focus on Rabiot.
With all due respect, Yusuf Yazici is not a player with the caliber to play for Man Utd.
The Red Devils need to be smart in what they do and need to focus on signing players who can improve the squad. The 27-year-old is not the answer and let’s see what the club thinks of it.
