Deal close – Man Utd to agree sale and willing to sign £16.9million a year star – Journalist

Sterling Sancho England

Man Utd have wrapped up most of their transfer business for the summer and are only looking to apply the finishing touches to what has been a spectacular window. One player that they are actively trying to move on is Jadon Sancho.

The talented English winger returned to Old Trafford after a spell at Borussia Dortmund on loan. Erik ten Hag and Sancho buried the hatchet and agreed to move on and it all looked promising for a few weeks but the 24-year-old was then left out of successive matchday squads.

Ahead of the transfer deadline, the Red Devils are keen to move on the ex-Dortmund winger. As per Sky Sports journalist, Dharmesh Sheth, Chelsea are edging closer to an agreement with Manchester United over the signing of Jadon Sancho but are yet to determine whether it will be a loan or a permanent transfer.

The Blues need to offload players of their own and are offering Raheem Sterling to Man Utd in a swap deal. Sheth says United would like to take on the ex-Man City winger but are not actively trying to make it happen.

The £16.9m a year star is Chelsea’s highest-paid player and has fallen out of favor under Enzo Maresca. The Blues will not want to keep a player they don’t count on at such astronomical wages and will be keen to move him on now.

Man Utd however have no need to replace Sancho in the squad even if they move him on. They have Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Amad Diallo as four options for the wings which is more than enough.

Unless Chelsea offer Sterling on really reasonable terms, Man Utd must not really try and sign the 29-year-old attacker. Even if he were to come, he would have to agree to a huge wage cut as the Red Devils shouldn’t offer him such figures.

With regards to Sancho, today might be his last day associated with Manchester United. Things haven’t worked out for him at Old Trafford and it’s time to make a clean break and move on to a new adventure.
