England international Kieran Trippier helped Atletico Madrid win the La Liga title last term and he was highly impressive for England at the European Championships as well.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the three Lions star wants to return to the Premier League and Manchester United are close to signing him for cheap.

Transfer: Man Utd in front row to finally sign £42.7million ex Genk player – Report

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, Man Utd have all but secured the deal to sign the veteran right back from the Rojiblancos and the announcement is expected to be made next week.

In Spain, Mundo Deportivo reported that it would take a fee of at least 30 million euros (£26million) to lure the 30-year-old defender.

However, the British source (The Sun) claim that the former Tottenham Hotspur star wants to sign for the Red Devils, who are on the verge of reaching an agreement for just £18million.

Man Utd do have two experienced left backs in the form of Luke Shaw and Alex Telles. At the other end, Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already has a top-class right back in the form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka at his disposal but the Norwegian manager does not have anyone good enough to cover for the former Crystal Palace player.

Young Portuguese, Diogo Dalot, played on loan for AC Milan but he was mainly a bench warmer in Italy last season. The Selecao starlet only managed to start 10 games in the Serie A under the management of Stefano Pioli.

Trippier has the quality and the experience to improve the RB position at Old Trafford and he is more attack-minded as compared to Wan-Bissaka. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming days and will keep you updated.
