Deal close – Man Utd lead to sign £70,000 a week player – Report

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

Manchester United are linked with multiple right backs as Ten Hag looks to strengthen the position at Old Trafford.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are closing in to hire the services of Swiss international, Kevin Mbabu.

News – Man Utd intensify contact to sign £53.2million star – Report

According to Tutto Mercato Web, the Red Devils have moved in advanced talks with Fulham to sign the defender.

The 27-year-old defender moved to the Cottagers in the last summer transfer window. The Italian news source have claimed that he is also linked with Serie A side, Monza, but is close to United.

At Old Trafford, Diogo Dalot has been Man Utd’s first choice right back under the guidance of Erik ten Hag.

However, lately, in the absence of the Portuguese international, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has regularly started for the Dutch boss and has impressed big time.

Therefore, in my view, we really do not need a new right back to strengthen the backline that has been rock solid in the current campaign, especially after the arrival of Martinez, Malacia and DM, Casemiro.

Since moving to Fulham, Kevin Mbabu has only made 7 appearances in all competitions under Marco Silva and has only started once in the Premier League.

So, it is surprising that Man Utd want to sign the £70,000 a week player (Salary Sport), who did not even play at the FIFA World Cup for Switzerland.

In your opinion, do Manchester United need to sign a new right back?
