Manchester United have been trying to lure Norwegian international, Erling Braut Haaland, for a long time and the latest reports going on in the British media are interesting.

Transfer: £34million star pressing to agree Man United move – Report

As per an exclusive story covered by The Daily Star Sunday today (press image provided below), the 21-year-old striker has a long-standing relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskajer and he holds the Old Trafford legend in high regard.

In such a scenario, the news source have mentioned that Man Utd believe Ole’s new deal with the club and his relation with Haaland would help them secure the major signing next summer.

Similarly, The Sun have exclusively reported that United are confident they can reach an agreement to sign the 12-capped international in 2022 when his £63million release clause will be available for activation.

It is claimed that ideally, the 20-time English champions would have preferred to land him this summer. However, after spending heavily on Varane and Sancho, they do not have the funds to afford Haaland.

The Star state that for now, Chelsea are in pole position to secure the striker this summer but Dortmund are reluctant to sell and have slapped a mammoth price tag of £150million on their prized asset.

In the last campaign, the young forward netted 41 goals in as many games (all competitions) for the Bundesliga side. He was the leading goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League. Man Utd do need a quality out and out striker to replace veteran Edinson Cavani? Should they wait to lure Erling Haaland next summer?
