Despite spending a lot on central defenders over the years, Manchester United have been shaky at the back and reports suggest that new manager wants to reinforce the backline.
As per a recent story covered by Spanish source, Fichajes, the Red Devils’ key objective is to strengthen the defense and they are targeting the signing of Wesley Fofana when he returns from injury.
Transfer: Man Utd have made proposal to rep to sign £196,000 a week star – Report
The French starlet’s current deal with the Foxes will expire in 2025 and it is stated that he could cost around £60-£70million.
The 20-year-old defender was a key member of Brendan Rodgers’s squad that lifted the FA Cup trophy in the last campaign. Unfortunately, before the start of this season, the youngster fractured the fibula.
Fofana is expected to return at the end of this month (Leicester Mercury) and Fichajes have mentioned that Rangnick is looking to sign a player, who is not only solid at the back but also good on the ball and can control play.
In all fairness, the likes of Lindelof, Bailly, Jones and record signing Maguire have not proved to be good enough and we need someone consistent enough to partner Raphael Varane in the central defense.
In your view, should Man Utd splash the cash to sign Wesley Fofana?
