Manchester United splashed the cash and signed Harry Maguire to strengthen their central defense in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have already conceded 8 goals in as many Premier League fixtures this season and currently, they are in the bottom half of the table.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are looking to further strengthen their central defense next summer and once again, Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly is in the lime light.

According to Goal.com, the Old Trafford club are planning for the next summer regardless of Solskjaer’s focus and they are considering moves to sign Koulibaly and West Ham’s Rice. Our focus is on the Serie A superstar.
In the last transfer window, the Senegalese international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United. As per Corriere dello Sport, United were ready to offer a fee of 95 million euros for the central defender but the Naples based club wanted full payment of the player’s 150 million euros release clause (£135million) to let him leave.
The 28-year-old star is one of the best defenders in the world and without a shadow of a doubt, he is best center back in Italy. Koulibaly is the only defender, who has featured in the Serie A Team of the Year in the past four seasons.
As far as United’s central defense is concerned, Solskjaer has got players like Bailly (injured), Rojo, Jones, Tuanzebe, Lindelof and Maguire at his disposal.
So, the club has got ample depth in the central defense but is the quality good enough? Liverpool had an average defensive setup before the arrival of Van Dijk, who immediately turned things around with his leadership. However, so far, Maguire has not been able to transform Man Utd’s back-line.
In your view, do United need to sign another central defender? Should they splash the cash to lure Koulibaly next year?
Ole should have bought Koulibaly for 90m when he instead purchased Maguire. Only a little more expensive and a thousand times better. Look at his cost now. Exorbitant! Oh well, not the first of his many mistakes. Do we have to live with him or do we, the fans, have to live with this garbage that is dished up time after time. There was an Arab consortium wanting to buy the Club; if they had, perhaps we would have virtually unlimited funds to purchase top-class players and it would be a pleasure to watch or team one again after years of putrid rubbish.
