Manchester United have been linked with Adrien Rabiot for some time and once again, the French midfielder is in the focus.
Not so long ago, Calcio Mercato reported that Juventus are prepared to offer the £115,000-a-week star to Man Utd in order to re-sign Paul Pogba from the Red Devils.
Transfer: Man United move in with offer to sign £220,000-a-week star – Many suitors
More recently, Tutto Sport have revealed (via Sport Witness) that Man Utd could complete the signing of the former PSG star in a swap deal.
However, Pogba is not considered. The Italian source have claimed that the Old Trafford outfit are considering to send summer signing Donny van de Beek to the Serie A champions in order to sign Rabiot.
The 25-year-old midfielder won every major domestic prize with PSG before opting to sign for Juventus on a free transfer. In Turin, the versatile midfielder has been in and out of the starting XI under the management of Azzurri legend Andrea Pirlo.
In the current campaign, so far, Rabiot has started 17 games in the Serie A, scored 2 goals and is yet to provide an assist.
The Les Bleus star has the quality and experience to strengthen Solskjaer’s midfield but it will be better to avoid a player whose discipline is not up to the mark.
After getting omitted from the 1st squad for France’s World Cup 2018 campaign, Rabiot opted to resign from the reserve squad. Moreover, he was suspended by PSG in his last few months for behavioral issues.
Therefore, in my view, Man Utd must avoid signing a trouble making player and should look elsewhere to strengthen their midfield department.
