Man Utd could move to sign £69million forward & £35million midfielder – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United are linked with numerous top quality players and the latest name in the lime light is that of Boubakary Soumare.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils are interested in hiring the services of the French midfielder and could move to team him up with compatriot and Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.

Transfer: Man Utd ready to sign ‘outstanding’ £190,000-a-week star by meeting demands – Report

It is stated that the defensive midfielder, who plays for Lille, will be out of contract in the summer and he is valued at around (max) 40 million euros (£35million). As far as Dembele is concerned, the Old Trafford club have tracked him for quite some time and the center forward would fancy a return to England, especially to a big side like Man Utd (ESPN).

Soumare is naturally a defensive midfielder, who has been impressive in the Ligue 1 this term. In the past few years, Matic has been United’s main play breaker but now, the veteran Serbian is past his best and must be replaced.

In such a scenario, the 20-year-old holding midfield starlet could come in and provide a solid cover in front of Solskjaer’s back-line.

In the attacking third, Lukaku was the club’s leading goalscorer in the last campaign but the Belgian international left Old Trafford to join Inter Milan in the summer transfer window and unfortunately, United failed to replace him.

Therefore, a quality striker should be lured in the winter transfer window and Dembele, who has been in top form this season, fits the bill. So far, the 23-year-old former Celtic star has netted 7 goals in 9 league starts for Lyon.

Earlier this month, The Daily Record revealed that the Ligue 1 side are looking to get around 80 million euros from his sale (£69million).

In your view, should United splash the cash to sign the French duo?
