Man Utd could move to sign attacker with £45million clause – Report

Jack Grealish goal vs Man Utd

As per reports going on in the media, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is seriously looking to strengthen his team’s offense this month and an Aston Villa star is in the focus.

According to The Independent, Man Utd have prioritized the signing of an attacking midfielder in the winter transfer window and their top two choices are Jack Grealish and James Maddison.

Our focus is on the Aston Villa skipper, who has been in brilliant form this season.

Transfer: Man Utd consider move to finally sign £40million midfielder in January – Report

The 24-year-old is naturally a central attacking midfielder, who plays in the No.10 role behind the main center forward. However, this season, he has mainly played on the left wing under the management of Dean Smith.

Grealish played a vital role in helping the Birmingham based club earn qualification to the Premier League last season. As far as the current campaign is concerned, the versatile attacker has so far started 19 games in all competitions and directly contributed in 14 goals (8 goals and 6 assists).

Not to forget, last month, he scored away from home against Man Utd via a sublime curling effort and in the last 9 league games, he has directly contributed in 6 goals.

Solskjaer has mainly utilized the 4-2-3-1 formation and in that setup, United clearly lack a quality central attacking midfielder. In such a scenario, Grealish has what it takes to largely improve Man United’s attack.

At the moment, Villa are 17th in the table, just a point above the relegation zone after 21 fixtures, so, in all fairness, they would not like to lose their leader and prized asset in the middle of the campaign. The attacker’s current contract with the club will expire in 2023 and it has a relatively low release clause of £45million (The Times).

In your view, should Man Utd splash the cash to sign Jack Grealish this month.
