Manchester United were heavily linked with a move to hire the services Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes in the summer but in the end, the Portuguese international stayed with The Lions.

If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then the attacker is once again linked with a move away from the Primeira Liga and the Red Devils are also in the lime light.

Transfer: Man Utd tipped to secure £90million+ signing of “really special” player in winter

According to an exclusive report recently covered by Correio da Manhã, Sporting CP are negotiating with the player’s agent over a fine that the club are obliged to pay after rejecting a big money move from Tottenham in the summer transfer window.

The renowned Portuguese outlet have mentioned that talks are going well and an agreement could be reached. Still, the new agreement does not indicate that the 25-year-old will stay in Lisbon for long term. It is further stated that top clubs are still interested in luring him and the likes of Man Utd, Spurs and Real Madrid could offer 70 million euros (£62million) in January, which might convince Sporting CP to offload their prized asset.

In the last campaign, Fernandes was in sensational form. Sporting CP won both the domestic cup competitions under his captaincy. Not to forget, in all competitions, he netted 32 goals and also provided 18 assists.

As far as the current season is concerned, so far, in just 5 league appearances, he has directly contributed in 7 goals (3 goals and 4 assists).

The Seleccao star is a central attacking midfielder and as discussed before, United badly need a natural quality player for the CAM position.

In your opinion, should Man Utd splash the cash to finally sign Bruno Fernandes in January?

  1. Man United should splash cash for Hernandez and Jordan Sancho either in the January or the summer transfer window. We need a CAM and an attacking right winger, ASAP. We may need 2 CAM’s if Pogba leaves and James Maddison could be a contender along with Donny van den Beek.

  2. Ofcourse United need a solid midfield. Go on & bring Bruno Fernandes to fortify the midfield. Good luck

  3. What United needs mostly now is a natural goal puncher is obvious Marcus and Martial can’t lead the line. Of course Bruno is needed for creativity in the midfield
