Manchester United have been linked with Brazilian international and Juventus star Alex Sandro for quite a long time and once again, the Serie A star is in the focus.
Even last year, reports (Calcio Mercato) suggested that Man Utd wanted to hire the services of the South American left back from the Bianconeri. In the end, they lured his compatriot, Alex Telles from FC Porto.
Transfer: Man United intent as £80million could be accepted – Report
Yesterday, Tutto Juve covered a story and claimed that the dethroned champions are ready to sell the Selecao defender this summer. He is valued at around 25 million euros (£21.7million) but The Old Lady would even be willing to offload him for 20 million euros.
The Italian source have mentioned that Man Utd could submit a bid to finally sign the 30-year-old fullback from the Bianconeri. However, they could face competition from the likes of Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
Sandro has played over 200 games for Juventus and has won every major domestic prize multiple times. The 21-capped international has got the quality and the experience to improve the defense at Old Trafford but in my view, his signing is not really needed.
The arrival of Alex Telles has pushed Luke Shaw to find his best ever form at Man Utd. The summer signing from Porto is a proven quality star, who is more than capable of covering for Shaw if he is absent. Moreover, the Red Devils have young Brandon Williams in the squad as well.
Therefore, as far as the left back position is concerned, Solskjaer has ample quality and depth and there is no real need for a new addition. Yes, if Telles, who has mostly warmed the bench this season, opts to depart, then Ole should look for a new LB.
In your view, who should Man Utd sign to strengthen the back-line for the 2021-2022 campaign?
