So, reports in the Italian media indicate that the 20-year-old could play against Parma in the Italian Serie A tonight.
News – Report – Man Utd now prepared to agree £46million fee to seal player exit
As per today’s edition of La Gazzetta Dello Sport (news image provided below), Dorgu has been ‘sold’ to Man Utd for a fee of £33.5m (40 million euros).
However, the Milan based media outlet claim that since the move to Old Trafford is ‘postponed’ for the ‘next few days’ and since tonight’s game against Parma is ‘heated’, the youngster could take part.
Parma and Lecce are level on points in the Serie A table, however, the latter is in the relegation zone and the former is two places above with a much superior goal difference.
GdS claim that Dorgu could start from the bench and then feature for some time.
For Lecce, the match is if utmost important, but they have agreed a club record sale and should the player get injured, United may call the deal off.
Ruben Amorim needs a long term solution for the left back / left wing back positions as currently, his two options, Malacia and Shaw, are injury prone.
The Portuguese boss should push Man Utd to ensure that they do not allow Lecce to use Dorgu in the heated fixture against Parma tonight.
Let’s hope United complete his transfer at the weekend i.e. before the deadline day.
