Kounde-and-Diego-Carlos-for-Sevilla

Manchester United signed Raphael Varane last summer but the proven quality central defender has not been able to improve the backline at Old Trafford.

The French international has been in and out of the lineup due to injuries, on the other hand, skipper, Harry Maguire has been consistently poor all season.

Transfer: Man Utd prepared to offer duo and cash to sign £72million+ player – Report

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are linked with another Les Bleus player in the form of Jules Kounde.

According to a story covered by ABC today (news image provided below), the 22-year-old defender expects to leave Sevilla in the coming months and could end up joining a Premier League club.

Chelsea have been hot in pursuit of the youngster but due to Govt. sanctions, the Blues cannot move to sign him. Moreover, it is stated that Stamford Bridge is not the most desirable destination as far as the player’s preference is concerned.

The renowned Spanish source have mentioned that Man Utd dream of luring Kounde and can financially afford to agree the fee of £67million (release clause) to secure his signing.

The 9-capped international has been rock solid for Sevilla under the management of Julen Lopetegui. In 2020, he was a key member of the squad that won the Europa League.

This term, the UEFA Nations League winner has so far started 26 games in the La Liga and helped his team keep 13 clean sheets. In your view, should Man Utd agree to pay £67million to sign Kounde?
