Manchester United have made a positive start to life under Ruben Amorim. After a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town, they managed to secure their first win under the new manager with an impressive 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt.
Amorim has started setting Man Utd up in a 3-4-3 formation. It is something that the club has never deployed in the past, at least in their recent history and the players could take some to get used to how their manager wants them to play.

One easy way for Amorim to catalyze the process of his players getting used to his system is signing former players from Sporting CP who have already played in this system numerous times and know their manager’s demands.
One player who has been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford in recent times is Geovany Quenda and As per Manchester Evening News, Man Utd are expected to submit a formal offer to secure the signature of the talented Portuguese teenager.
The Old Trafford outfit have a great working relation with super agent, Jorge Mendes, who is now the new representative of the youngster, and they have already met him to discuss the transfer.
The report says that the Red Devils are yet to make a formal offer to sign the player but the chiefs at Sporting CP are aware of the English club’s interest and expect an offer for the Portuguese international to arrive next year.
Manchester United are a club who have more than seen the ill effects of a manager being hell-bent on signing former players. Erik ten Hag’s signings from Ajax were mostly middling and bordering towards the poor side.
However, it makes sense if Ruben Amorim wants to sign players from Sporting CP. It all has to do with adaptability to the system and let’s wait and see if Man Utd make an effort to sign Quenda in the coming months.
