Manchester United have been linked with several top-quality players this month but have not been able to secure even one key signing.
The name of Luis Diaz has been in the limelight for quite a while but unfortunately, reports suggest that Man Utd have failed in the pursuit to sign the Colombian. To make matters worse, arch-rivals Liverpool have won the race to get his signing done.
Transfer: Man Utd backed to agree ‘great’ signing of £113,000-a-week ‘quality’ star
Last night, Correio da Manha reported that the Red Devils, Spurs and the Merseysiders entered the race to lure the South American Winger, who was made available for sale for a fee of £49.8million.
The Anfield club acted swiftly and made an offer to meet the above-mentioned asking price set by FC Porto (Record). Not only that, to win the competition, they even managed to reach an agreement with the 25-year-old star, who is all set to complete the transfer before the deadline.
Manchester United are already out of the title race, on the other hand, Liverpool are still competing to win every trophy this season.
Since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, they have been far more successful and are a much more attractive destination for players as compared to Old Trafford.
Our marquee summer signing, Jadon Sancho, has been misfiring since completing his move and it will be infuriating for the supporters if Luis Diaz manages to score/create goals week in week out for our rivals. He has already directly contributed in 22 goals in the 28 appearances for Porto this term.
In your opinion, who should Man Utd sign to strengthen their squad before the window closes on Monday night?
