Manchester United ripped LASK apart in their own backyard last night to have one foot in the quarter finals of the Europa League. Next up, if the Premier League is not suspended due to corona-virus scare, the Red Devils should face Tottenham on Sunday.
As far as the transfers are concerned, reports are once again linking the Old Trafford outfit with Denis Zakaria.
Transfer: Man Utd prepare move to sign £90million star, who wants OT move – Report
According to Sky in Germany, the 20-time English champions and Bayern Munich remain keen on hiring the services of the 23-year-old, who is likely to leave Borussia Monchengladbach. It is mentioned that for now, Man Utd are favorites to sign the versatile midfielder.
Back in October, Sky reported that even Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing the Swiss international, whose current contract with the Bundesliga side will expire in 2022 and he would cost around 50 million euros (£45million).
Zakaria is mainly a defensive midfielder but he can effectively play in the central midfield and also in the central defense if needed. In the current campaign, he has mostly played in the holding midfield role.
So far, in 23 league appearances this term, the former Young Boys play breaker has scored two goals and provided two assists for the German club, who are currently six points behind leaders and reigning champions Bayern Munich.
At Man Utd, at the moment, Matic is our first choice defensive midfielder. The Serbian international had an average campaign last term. As far as this season is concerned, the veteran star was mostly on the treatment table in the first half of the campaign but he has regularly started in the second half mainly because Pogba and McTominay have been out injured.
In all honestly, the 31-year-old star is now past his best and United should splash the cash to replace him with a specalist defensive midfileder in the summer transfer window.
In your view, should Man Utd spend £45million to sign Denis Zakaria in summer?
there is need to offload somebody to give zakaria space.
If Denis Zakaria is within the region of £45m, we should sign him instead of Grealish. For me Grealish is not as good as people are looking at it. I prefer Madison of Leicester to him.
We need a versatile midfielder to compliment with the ones we already have.
Matic, Fred, Mac Tommnay have picked great form and with Pogba recovering from injury, we only need a versatile midfielder for a backup in the event of injuries in the team.
We need to build a team that the second eleven will be as good as the first eleven.
Would definitely take Partey over him, for an almost identical price as well
