Man Utd have agreed £18.6million terms with decorated star – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Man Utd boss

Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and as per the latest reports going on in the media, the Red Devils are close to signing his replacement.

According to an exclusive report covered by The Mail, Man Utd are on the verge of signing Croatian international Mario Mandzukic and they have agreed a three year deal with the Juventus star (worth £18.6million) which will make him earn £6.2million annually.

The British outlet have claimed that even if Dybala opts against moving to United, Juve still want to offload Mandzukic and lure Lukaku. The former Bayern Munich center forward is valued at around £15million.

It is further mentioned that Solskjaer sees the veteran goal-scorer as the ideal replacement for Lukaku (The Mail).

I’d disagree with the Norwegian manager taking into consideration that the Croatian turned 33 and the Belgian turned 26 back in May.

Nevertheless, Mandzukic is a proven quality goal-scorer and his experience can help our main center forward, Rashford, a lot. The Croat is a decorated star, who has won several major prizes in his career.

He has won every domestic title in Germany and Italy and back in 2013, he scored in the final to help Bayern Munich win the Champions League title. He also scored in the CL final of 2017 but Real Madrid deservedly won that contest.

As far as his international career is concerned, Mandzukic is currently the second highest goal-scorer in the history of Croatia. So far, he has netted 33 goals and is only two goals behind the legendary Real Madrid star Davor Suker.

Not to forget, he scored 3 goals and provided an assist in the 2018 World Cup and ended up with a runners-up medal.

In your opinion, is Mandzukic good enough to replace Lukaku at Old Trafford?

  1. He is experienced but old. LUKAKU should stay. United should build a younger squad that can compete with Man City, Liverpool & co.. Thanks.

  2. Yes we really concerned about this business but is not what we need, we lost Ander hererrer we have not found his replacement and also we have sold Felleini we haven’t buy anyone of his replacement and that was how we will manage the next season? Our problem is we need to have defensive midfielder the world class the one which has the ability to work harder and then you must sign Bruno Fernandes for us? When you do that you did all we want and they will play very impressive games in the coming of next season.

  3. If a player is no longer happy, let him go. It is far much better than regretting for the whole of the season. Regardless of the age, let Mandzukic come, he might come with a lot of surprises.
