Few days back, we covered a report (via The Express) claiming that Manchester United are ready to make an offer to sign Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.

As per the latest update coming from France, the Red Devils have moved in with a bid for the 22-year-old but they are not alone in the race to secure his signature.

Transfer: Man United backed to secure signing of ‘best’ £200,000-a-week forward

The Express reported that the Lille value the Brazilian center back at £25million. So, if the latest reports are to be believed then the Old Trafford outfit have offered more than the valuation to sign him.

According to La Voix Du Nord, Man United have made a bid worth 30 million euros (£27million) including bonuses but the same offer has also been made by Everton and Napoli.

Not to forget, the Italian club have recently sealed the signing of striker Victor Osimhen from Lille, so, the relations between the two clubs should be good and the French source have claimed that the Naples based side have a head start to sign the South American defender.

Everton will not take part in any European competition next term, Napoli are going to compete in the Europa League and Manchester United will take part in the Europe’s elite competition. So, the lure of Champions League football could play a role in the transfer saga.

The French club have already signed a defender in the form of Sven Botman, who is expected to replace Gabriel as per La Voix Du Nord. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming days and will keep you updated.

Man United conceded 54 goals in the 2018-19 PL campaign. In the recently concluded league season, we had the third best defensive record after Liverpool and Man City and conceded just 36 goals.

So, the signings of Wan-Bissaka and Maguire helped Solskjaer. Should Ole splash the cash to sign a new center back when he already has the likes of Lindelof, Bailly, Jones, Tuanezebe and Smalling (on loan for now)?
