Manchester United were interested in luring Jadon Sancho last summer but the teenager eventually stayed in the Bundesliga and signed a lucrative new deal worth £190,000-a-week (The Mail) with Borussia Dortmund.
As per the latest reports going on in the media, the Red Devils still seem eager to hire the services of the England international for next season.
Transfer: Decorated star has suitcases ready to move to Manchester United
The winger is one of the best teenage players in the world at the moment and he had a fantastic debut campaign in Germany last term. So, United can expect serious competition to hire his services but they have a plan.
According to Bleacher Report, Man United have already held talks to agree an end-of-season deal for Sancho well before the start of the summer transfer window.
In the last campaign, the 19-year-old directly contributed in 32 goals in all competitions and in the current campaign, so far, he has directly contributed in 9 goals (3 goals and 6 assists) in as many league games for Dortmund.
Last night, England defeated Montenegro 7-0 to book their place in the UEFA Euro 2020. Sancho featured for full 90 times but he was not able to score or create any goal. So far, he has netted two goals for the 1966 World Cup winners.
Back in 2017, Liverpool acted swiftly to agree a deal for Naby Keita, who eventually joined the Reds after the 2017-18 campaign. Man Utd’s idea of securing a similar (end of season) deal for Sancho is appreciable but first, the Red Devils have to improve their on-field results.
If United fail to book their place in the next season’s Champions League then it will not come as any surprise to see the youngster move elsewhere. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming months.
