If reports in the media are anything to go by then once again, Manchester United are linked with Barcelona starlet, Ilaix Moriba, whose future is up in the air.
Back in March, the Red Devils moved in with a strong offer to sign the 18-year-old midfielder but the player’s desire was to stay at the Nou Camp (Mundo Deportivo).
Transfer: Offer made – Man United prepared to secure £21.3million playmaker’s exit
However, the situation has changed now. The youngster’s current contract with the La Liga giants will expire in less than a year and so far, he has not agreed a new contract with the club.
In such a scenario, 90min claim that for not accepting the renewal deal, Barca have banished the player to the reserves and he was not even included in the squad that defeated Real Sociedad in the opening league fixture (4-2) last night.
The news source have mentioned that several clubs are interested in luring the teenage sensation and Man Utd have made contact and held talks to sign him.
In the last campaign, Ilaix started 4 games (14 appearances) in the La Liga under the management of Dutch boss Ronald Koeman and directly contributed in as many goals – 1 goal and 3 assists (Transfermarkt).
Man Utd do need to strengthen things in the center of the park and the fact that so many top clubs reportedly want the Spanish youngster indicates that he is a top talent. Barca would surely not want to lose an asset like him for free in 2022 but thus far, we do not have any information about the asking price.
It must be remembered that Ilaix Moriba’s current deal with Barcelona has got an enormous release clause (Marca) of 100 million euros (£85m).
I don’t think we need any other players to come and play in the middle of the Park with the likes of Paul Donny mc Tommy Fred available we need to secure a center forward who is outstanding to give us 25-30 goals a season
