Manchester United were linked with Ajax star David Neres back in April (The Sun) and now, the Brazilian international is once again in the focus.
According to Jorge Nicola (Yahoo Sports), Man Utd have recently moved in with an offer of 50 million euros to hire the services of the 22-year-old winger.
The Brazilian journalist has mentioned that the Dutch champions promised to agree a lucrative new contract with the South American but the offer from the Red Devils changed everything. Nicola further stated that the Eredivisie giants have warned that they will only sell their prized asset for a fee of 70 million euros (£64million) in this transfer window.

Ajax won the domestic double and also reached the semis of the UEFA Champions League in the last campaign. They have already lost two star players in the form of De Ligt (Juventus) and De Jong (Barcelona) this summer.
Losing Neres would be another blow because the Samba star is a key player and he had a fantastic campaign for the Dutch side last term.
Naturally, Neres is a left winger but he can effectively play on the right flank and also in the central attacking midfield role if needed. In all competitions, the versatile attacker started 38 games and directly contributed in 27 goals (12 goals and 15 assists).
The former Sao Paulo man provided an assist (first leg) and netted a goal (second leg) to help Ajax knock Real Madrid out of the Champions League (Round of 16).
In the last eight, he scored a sublime goal vs Italian giants Juventus in the first leg and was impressive in the second leg as well. Unfortunately, in the semis, he missed the second leg of the tie due to injury and Spurs bounced back from two goals down to qualify for the final.
At Old Trafford, on the left wing, United do have Martial, who was our best winger last term. Solskjaer has also got Alexis Sanchez, who was perhaps the worst player in the last campaign.
The Red Devils have already strengthened their attack by signing Daniel James this summer. In your view, should they splash the cash to lure Neres?
A very big team like United need to have a strong squad, even the bench. I see nothing wrong if he comes. But another area of major concern now is the midfield. We must strengthen there with midfielders who can score goals. Goals shouldn’t be the task of only strikers,
I agree. In the match against AC Milan, the first goal was scored against man utd due to fault of Matic and now he is slow in his action. Nobody has been recruited in place of Herrara. One midfielder and one attacker must be signed to conquer PL Title etc.
Neres will provide Ole with more attacking options and supplement depth in midfield.
