As per today’s version of Sport, in recent days, Man Utd have moved in with everything as they desperately look to sign the Netherlands international before the transfer window’s closure.

Agent, Ali Dursun, is in Barcelona to meet with the club’s management for resolving the concerns. The player still wants to stay at the Nou Camp but is not willing to take a pay cut.

On the other hand, the Catalan news source have mentioned that the Blaugrana will once again ask the midfielder to lower his wages, if not, they will look to sell him to United or Chelsea.

De Jong’s current deal with the 5-time European Champions will expire in 2026 and he earns a mammoth salary of 21 million euros per season i.e. around £340,000 a week (Football Transfers).

The former Ajax man became a superstar under the guidance of Erik ten Hag but he has failed to shine in Spain.

If it comes down to moving to Chelsea or United, he might choose the Blues because they can offer Champions League football.

Sport claim Frenkie De Jong’s sale is directly linked with the arrival of Man City star, Bernardo Silva, who has already agreed everything with the La Liga giants.

With time running out in the transfer window, who should Man Utd sign to improve the squad?
