Man Utd have now moved in with £71million offer to sign attacker

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United have made a bid to sign Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes.

Few days back, we covered a report via A Bola claiming that United are prepared to pay a fee of 70-80 million euros in order to beat Man City and lure the Sporting CP attacking midfielder.

Transfer: Man Utd favorites to secure signing of “incredible” £60million star

Now, Jornal de Noticias have revealed that Man Utd have moved in with an offer of 80 million euros (£71million) for the 24-year-old star. The Portuguese outlet claim that United are willing to pay 55 million euros cash and the remaining 25 million euros in add-ons to secure the signing. Furthermore, it is mentioned that the offer made by the PL giants is very tempting.

The Old Traffor club were defensively poor and also struggled in the attacking third in the recently concluded campaign.

In my last article on this subject, I mentioned that Fernandes scored (32) more goals for Sporting than the likes of Lukaku and Rashford (28) collectively netted for United. In all competitions, the highly rated attacker provided 18 assists as well.

Solskjaer definitely needs a player, who can regularly score and create goals and the Seleccao star has proven this season that he can do the job.

Lately, he has praised (Record) Premier League champions Manchester City and European champions Liverpool, who will take part in the Champions League in the next campaign.

Fernandes featured in the Europa League this term and if he moves to Old Trafford, then he would still be featuring in the second tier of European football next season. Therefore, if he is seriously looking to play in the Europe’s elite competition then United might end up losing out on hiring his services.

We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
