Man Utd have offered £160,000 a week deal to sign star, but in vain

Antonio Rudiger Germany

Manchester United desperately need to improve their backline in the summer transfer window and they were heavily linked with Chelsea star, Antonio Rudiger.

According to Christian Falk and Patrick Berger, Man Utd have offered a deal worth net 10 million euros per season i.e. £160,000 a week to the German but the move will be in vain.

The renowned journalists have mentioned that the Kaiser has rejected the chance to move to Old Trafford out of respect for his current club. He does now want to play for any other English side after the Blues.

Further, they have claimed that 29-year-old star is expected to agree a deal to move to Spanish giants, Real Madrid, on a free transfer.

The former Stuttgart man is one of the best defenders in the Premier League. Stats indicate that this term, he has been the fastest player in the competition (Opta).

That is why it has been near impossible for the best of attackers to dribble past Rudiger. This season, so far, he has made 47 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club and helped them keep 22 clean sheets.

Man Utd have so far kept just 9 clean sheets in all competitions in the current campaign. They surely need a leader at the back because skipper Maguire has proved to be a flop.

With Rudiger possibly heading to Real Madrid, who should the Red Devils sign to improve their defense in the summer?
