Man Utd have offered £18.3million contract to sign star with £36.7million clause – Reports

Alex Telles Porto Left Back

Manchester United are consistently linked with Brazilian international Alex Telles, who might end up moving to Old Trafford before the closure of the summer transfer window.

According to reports going on in the media (A Bola), Man Utd have offered him a five year contract worth 20 million euros (£18.3million) – 4 million euros a year – to secure his signing.

As far as the transfer fee is concerned, The Guardian have reported that the Samba star’s contract with Porto has a release clause of 40 million euros (£36.7million) and the Red Devils are looking to seal his signing for a reduced fee of 25 million euros (£23million) because the player will be out of contract next year.

The renowned media source have revealed that the 27-year-old defender is hoping to secure his move to Man Utd this week. It is further claimed that his salary would be around £75,000-a-week.

After the defeat against Crystal Palace, Solskjaer’s first choice left back, Luke Shaw, claimed that the club need to bring in new players to strengthen the squad.

Shaw was at fault for conceding United’s first goal of the game vs the Eagles at the weekend. In all fairness, the England international is one of the weak links at Old Trafford who must be replaced and if Telles does end up completing his move, he will likely start ahead of the former Southampton man in the LB role.

The South American fullback is an attack minded player who has got a quality left foot. Last season, in Porto’s title winning campaign, he scored 11 goals and also provided 8 assists.

This term, he has already found the net twice (opening league fixture vs Braga). On the other hand, Shaw has only scored a single goal for Man United in over 150 PL outings.

We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming days and will keep you updated.

  1. Well done Man.Utd great team work. Sometimes you will never know the players what they can do if they are all all time seated on the bench. I am not saying that some of the other players are not good but they need to be tested and changed to make a difference. Mata and Rasford are good players and would not like to see them go. Ighalo is not a fully a Man.Utd player but he is still passionate about this club and will continue like a true Man.Utd player. It made all your fans so very proud of you all.
