Inacio’s current deal with the Lions has a release clause of £51million.
It is reported that Man Utd have made contact about submitting an offer under £51million for the central defender.
The 20-time English champions must improve their backline for next season and also have sights on luring Everton’s Branthwaite.
Inacio is one of the best defenders in the Portuguese league and last night, he won his second Liga Nos title after Benfica lost to Famalicao.
The 22-year-old has so far featured in 30 league games this term under the management of Ruben Amorim and helped Sporting keep 14 clean sheets.
He has already made 6 appearances for the senior national side and would likely be part of the Seleccao squad for the European Championships.
Having already won multiple titles in Portugal, Inacio should look to move to a bigger league and joining Man Utd would be a huge step in his career.
The only downside of moving to Old Trafford would be lack of Champions League football. He can play in the CL if he opts to stay with Sporting.
