As per the latest reports going on in the media, Man Utd are closer to Inacio than Spanish champions, Real Madrid.
According to a story published by AS yesterday (Page 19), the 22-year-old central defender is high on the wish list of the Los Blancos.
However, the Madrid based news source claim that the Premier League clubs are closer to Inacio and the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool are looking to secure his signature.
The Seleccao star has been rock solid in the defense for Sporting under the guidance of Ruben Amorim.
Last night, he featured for full 90 minutes as the Lions defeated Portimonense 3-0. If Benfica fail to beat Famalicao tonight, then Sporting will win the Liga Nos title.
The Red Devils have so far conceded 51 goals in the Premier League, Liverpool have conceded 36 goals and Madrid, who won the La Liga yesterday, have only let in 22 goals.
Man Utd clearly need to strengthen the backline in the summer and a proven quality player like Inacio would be a top addition.
The dilemma for United is that they cannot offer Champions League football next term.
