Ruben Amorim is trying to build a new project at Manchester United but like a plumber trying to fix leaky pipes, every time the Portuguese tactician seems to plug one gap in the pipeline, a new issue seems to appear elsewhere.

For instance, under Erik ten Hag early on in the season, Andre Onana was performing rather well, finally looking like the player Man Utd wanted when they signed him from Inter Milan, and his first-season struggles seem to be a thing of the past.

However, in recent weeks, under Ruben Amorim, Onana has fallen off a cliff in terms of performances. This has become an issue because Man Utd are conceding more goals than before and not creating more either, leading to many poor results.

Now, as per SPORT, Man Utd are interested in signing talented Spanish shot-stopper Joan Garcia who plays for Espanyol. At just 23, he is already considered a top prospect and has had an excellent La Liga campaign.

The Catalan outlet have mentioned that suitors must pay his £24.7million (30 million euros) release clause to get the signing done.

It is worth noting that Garcia is performing exceedingly well for a struggling Spanish side and if not for him, they might actually be in the relegation places. Last summer, Arsenal tried to sign him but were not successful in their bid.

Now though, Espanyol might be forced to sell players at the end of the campaign and the player with the highest transfer value would have to be Joan Garcia.

Joan Garcia is the perfect definition of a modern day goalkeeper. The Spaniard is very good with the ball at his feet, is good at sweeping behind the high-line and is also a very good shot-stopper and is safe with his hands.

It remains to be seen if Man Utd make a move to sign Garcia in the summer. That would probably mean cutting their losses on Andre Onana and it would all depend on what Ruben Amorim wants to do with the squad going forward.
