Man Utd see £82.5m player as perfect signing to replace star – Report

Rafael Leao Milan

Man Utd are going through a season of catastrophic mess. The finances they have spent on signing players in the summer hasn’t really translated into performances on the pitch and they were fortunate to beat Ipswich Town 3-2 with a red card.

Ruben Amorim has taken quite a few brave decisions since coming to Old Trafford including letting Marcus Rashford leave on loan to Aston Villa. However, the Portuguese tactician is yet to start getting the best out of this squad.

News – Report – Man Utd told £75million will get signing done

Despite not having any sporting success so far this season, and not in a position to qualify for European football through the league at least as things stand, Man Utd are being very ambitious with their transfer targets for the summer.

As per TDF, Man Utd see AC Milan star, Rafael Leao, as the perfect signing to replace the exit-bound Marcus Rashford. The Englishman’s career at Old Trafford seems to have come to an end and Aston Villa have the opportunity to sign him permanently in the summer.

The Red Devils thus want to sign the Portuguese winger, with Manchester City also interested in his services. Leao is an X-factor player who is capable of changing games single-handedly but he is extremely inconsistent.

Leao’s AC Milan career has been marred by 10/10 performances being followed by 5/10 performances and in the current state of Man Utd where they are already dealing with a lot of sporting inconsistency, they need someone more reliable than the Seleccao star.

Ruben Amorim’s system also does not have the place for a natural winger and the 25-year-old might not really thrive as an inside forward.

The Portuguese winger needs the width to operate in full flight. AC Milan are asking for £82.5m to part ways with the player.

Man Utd must not be spending this kind of money on one player when they have a whole squad to overhaul.

It will not be a wise decision from the club but their decision-making hasn’t really been something to boast about in recent times. What do you think?
