Despite spending over £100m to sign Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund over the last two summer windows, Manchester United continue to struggle with goal-scoring issues.
Hojlund has netted only twice in the Premier League thus far this season, while Zirkzee has scored only three times. Having left unimpressed by the duo, new head coach, Ruben Amorim, even deployed Kobbie Mainoo in the CF position vs Crystal Palace last weekend.

But, the youngster couldn’t showcase his best in an unfamiliar position. In the end, United lost the match 2-0. So, Amorim needs an upgrade in the No.9 position to turn the situation around.
Man Utd wanted to purchase a new striker in January and were linked with a few names but eventually failed to hire anyone before the deadline due to PSR risk.
Considering this situation and the poor form of Hojlund and Zirkzee, Amorim’s side should go for Jonathan David to strengthen the frontline.
The Canadian currently earns just around £31,000-a-week in salary and has entered the final four months of his current contract with LOSC Lille.
So, he can be hired for free and a pre-contract deal can be struck immediately. His salary would also be affordable for Man Utd.
David has scored 20 goals in all competitions thus far this season with six of those coming in the Champions League.
He netted against big clubs like Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool in Europe’s elite club competition and helped Lille finish in the top eight.
Therefore, keeping all the components in mind like the financial scenario of United and their CF situation, the Canadian could be an ideal option for Amorim to strengthen the attack. What do you think?
