Transfer: Man United backed to agree signing of £83.5million midfielder
The famous British source have mentioned that West Ham United made a bid of £50million to sign the South American forward in the winter transfer window but failed. That was perhaps the last chance for the Hammers to hire his services.
It is stated that now a big shark like Manchester United is looking to lure the 22-year-old striker in the summer transfer window and Benfica will demand a fee of £60million from the sale of their record signing.
Nunez has been in fantastic form for the Portuguese giants this term. He is currently the leading goal scorer in the Liga Nos with 21 goals in just 19 starts.
In the Champions League group stage, he netted a brace vs Barca and also found the net vs German giants Bayern Munich. The youngster scored the decisive goal to knock Ajax out of the competition (Round of 16) and last night, he found the net vs Liverpool in the first leg of the quarter finals.
The Telegraph claim that the 8-capped international could leave the Eagles this summer and it is clear that he wants to play for a Champions League club.
As things stand, Man Utd are in 7th place and need to step up big time in order to book a place in the Europe’s elite tournament for next season.
