Man Utd lead to agree signing of £70million star

Darwin Nunez - Benfica and Uruguay forward

Manchester United have been linked with Uruguayan international Darwin Nunez for some time and the star striker is once again in the lime light.

Back in October, The Daily Star revealed that the Red Devils are one of the clubs interested in hiring the services of the Benfica center forward, who could cost around £70million.

Transfer: Man Utd told £21m would get signing done – £8.2m a year contract demanded

More recently, Traspasos, have claimed that Man Utd are leading to secure the signing of Nunez in order to replace Cavani, who will be out of contract in the summer.

The 22-year-old South American star has been in brilliant form for Benfica in the current campaign. He is the leading goalscorer in the Liga Nos at the moment.

In all competitions, so far, he has started 19 games and netted 21 goals. For the senior national side, he has scored 2 goals in 8 appearances thus far.

Nunez will eventually replace veteran legends like Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani in the Uruguayan national team.

At Old Trafford, we need a top-class striker, who would be able to serve the club in the years to come. Since the 2012-13 season, no Man Utd forward has managed to score 20+ goals in the Premier League.

In your view, is Darwin Nunez good enough to improve our strike force?

  1. I dont think its all that worth to invest in Kane. Ageing will certainly have an impact in his play. Man utd should not do the same mistake as they had committed in bringing Ronaldo. Kane is in his late 20s, we need to have young players who can run all the
    90 minutes.
