Manchester United have been linked with French international and AS Monaco star, Axel Disasi, for months and the latest reports are positive.
As per a report published by The Mail in January, the Red Devils opened talks to hire the services of the 25-year-old central defender.
Transfer: Man Utd prepare strong bid, £62.5million would get signing done
Last month, the British media outlet further reported that the Old Trafford club have stepped up their chase to lure the £44million in the summer.
Now, as per an exclusive story covered by Football Insider, Man Utd are leading the race to seal the signing of Disasi.
The news source have revealed that Chelsea and PL champions, Manchester City, are also interested in the Les Bleus center back but United are in the pole position to get the signing done.
Last night, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof started in the central defense and helped Ten Hag’s team keep a clean sheet vs Forest.
However, the duo have rarely featured under the Dutch boss, who has preferred Martinez and Varane in his lineup.
Maguire is still the captain at Old Trafford but he must leave to play regular first team football and it will not come as any surprise to see him depart in the next transfer window.
To replace him, Man Utd should move to sign Disasi, who has been productive not just at the back but also in the offense.
In the current campaign, so far, the 3-capped international, has directly contributed in 10 goals (6 goals and 4 assists) for Monaco.
In your view, should Man Utd bid £44million to sign Axel Disasi?
