Man Utd make contact to sign £50million play breaker – Report

Aurelien Tchouameni - France midfielder

Manchester United need major reinforcements for next season if they are to have any chance of ending their long trophy drought.

Their weakest department is the midfield and reports indicate that the Red Devils are interested in signing French midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni.

Transfer: Man Utd prepared to agree £15.6million a year terms to secure signing – Report

According to Marca, the Les Bleus play breaker would prefer to move to the Premier League despite interest from 13-time European Champions, Real Madrid.

The Madrid based outlet have mentioned that Man Utd have made contact and asked the player, who will be out of contract in over two years, to join them.

On March 1, Spanish source, Sport, talked about United’s interest in the 22-year-old DM and stated that Monaco will only let their prized asset leave if the asking price of £50m is met.

At Old Trafford, we do not have a single strong play breaker in the squad. The only specialist holding midfielder is Nemanja Matic, whose best days are long gone and now, he usually warms the bench.

This season, so far, the Serbian international has only started 12 games in all competitions and he needs to be replaced.

In such a scenario, Tchouameni, who won the UEFA Nations League under the management of Didier Deschamps, would be a great addition.

Have your say – Should Man Utd bid £50m to sign the 7-capped star?
