Another day, another story linking Ousmane Dembele with a move away from Barcelona but the latest update suggests that the player might end up staying.
According to a report covered by Mundo Deportivo today (press image provided below), there is optimism at Barca that the French international will sign a new contract to extend his stay in Spain.
Transfer: Man Utd consider paying £63.8million to finally secure signing – Report
The Les Bleus star will be out of contract next summer and can agree a lucrative deal to join any club for free. The Spanish news source have mentioned that Man Utd have submitted a huge offer that will make him earn way more than what he will get at the Nou Camp.
Moreover, the Red Devils also guarantee the player a starring role in the squad. At the moment, the former Rennes attacker is earning a salary of £215,000 a week (The Sun).
Dembele’s agent has been pushing him to leave the Spanish giants but now, it is stated that he has given up because the player’s desire is to stay with the Catalan giants.
It is stated that the 24-year-old has made it clear that his priority is to continue with Barcelona and has told his agent to reach an agreement which would satisfy all the parties involved.
The 24-year-old has missed majority of the current campaign with a hamstring injury and only made his first appearance on Tuesday night. He featured for 25 odd minutes in the CL.
At Old Trafford, we have stars like Rashford, Sancho, Martial, Greenwood, Fernandes, Van de Beek and Mata in the attacking midfield. Therefore, there is no need to pursue Ousmane Dembele and we must move to strengthen the central midfield.
