Transfer: Man Utd told £46m-£50m offer would secure signing – Star prefers Old Trafford move

The Catalan news source have mentioned that Barcelona are urgently looking to sell the 25-year-old midfielder and will accept a fee worth 80 million euros (£67million).

It is stated that Man United are pressing to secure the signing this week but they face competition from Chelsea.

Barcelona have made it clear that De Jong has to leave and even Xavi is aware of the decision. The Spanish giants want £67million in order to move for Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.

Now, the Netherlands midfielder has to choose between Man Utd and Chelsea.

The media outlet have mentioned that the Red Devils are prepared to agree lucrative terms to sign the former Eredivisie midfielder.

On the other hand, the Stamford Bridge club can offer him the chance to live in London and feature in the Champions League next season.

Man Utd earned a 1-1 draw in their last friendly contest of the pre-season yesterday and will now collide against Brighton in the Premier League next weekend.

They have wasted a lot of time chasing De Jong and going into the new campaign, the midfield is even weaker than last year as they have not replaced Matic and Pogba. In your view, should we continue to wait for the Dutchman until the transfer deadline ends next month?
