Manchester United are in one of the most important phases of their evolution. The once storied club has gone through a decade of middling results and no Premier League titles and several project-building attempts have ended in failure.
The latest to attempt to do the impossible is Ruben Amorim, a Portuguese tactician with an excellent track record at Sporting CP. He has been managing the Red Devils for half a season now but has almost been given a free run until the end of last season.

Amorim will know that he will now start being judged by the work he does during the transfer window and during pre-season, as he looks to make Man Utd competitive again. To do this, one position that the Red Devils definitely need to reinforce is the striker role.
Man Utd have been heavily linked with a move for Fiorentina star Moise Kean in recent weeks, following an impressive Serie A season. However, as per Corriere dello Sport, the Red Devils, for now, are not closing a deal for the Italian number nine.
The report mentions that with Man Utd stalling, Al Qadsiah are the only club rivalling for Kean’s signature and they have already made a contract offer of around £250,000 a week to steal the signing from under the English club’s noses.
Maturing over the years
The ex-Everton striker scored 25 goals and provided three assists in 44 games across all competitions. These numbers are very decent and a massive upgrade on the time he spent at Goodison Park with the Toffees.
Kean has always been touted as a huge talent ever since he was breaking into the team at Juventus but it has taken some time for him to showcase it on a consistent basis. Right now though, it might be a good time for him to make an ambitious move.
The Red Devils currently have Rasmus Hojlund as the number nine in the ranks but the Dane is providing to be a very inconsistent figure in front of goal, much like the Italian in his early days. Thus, Man Utd are rightfully looking for a replacement.
The only concern with Moise Kean would be whether he can succeed in transferring his Serie A form to the Premier League, a place where he did not have much success in previously.
It is a gamble that Man Utd will be taking with potential upsides. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
