Manchester United have been linked with Edinson Cavani and the latest reports seem very intriguing.
Earlier this month, French source L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) reported that the Red Devils positioned themselves to hire the services of the Uruguayan striker in the summer transfer window.
Transfer: Man Utd willing to finally close £47million+ signing by raising bid – Report
Now that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s star player Marcus Rasfhford is out injured, United need to improve their attack this month.
Manchester Evening News have exclusively reported that Man Utd consider making a move to sign Cavani, who is valued at around £25million, this month.
The veteran goalscorer will turn 33 next month and will be out of contract in the summer but United desperately need to strengthen their strike-force and therefore, the South American forward should be lured in the winter window even though he is only going to be a short term fix.
The former Napoli star has mainly been injured in the current campaign and PSG have mostly utilized Icardi up front. Still, Cavani is one of the best finishers in the world, he has ample quality and experience to largely improve United’s strike-force.
In the current campaign, Solskjaer has mainly utilized Anthony Martial, who is not an out and out striker, in the CF role. If the PSG superstar, who earns around £318,000-a-week star (L’Equipe – talkSPORT), ends up moving to Old Trafford then he should start in the No. 9 role and Martial could play on the left wing until Rashford is back.
In your view, should Man Utd splash £25million to sign Edinson Cavani this month?
