Manchester United are coming into the 2024/25 campaign with a blockbuster transfer window behind him but Dan Ashworth has already started planning for the future of the club.
It looks like the Red Devils don’t want to waste a single minute.
Transfer – “Move could happen” – Insider reveals Man Utd update on signing £42million attacker
The club is already looking in the market for potential market reinforcements in future transfer windows and they have now identified someone who could be available on a free transfer next summer upon the expiry of his contract.
As per Sport Bild [image attached at the end], Man Utd now want to sing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah who has made it clear that he will be leaving the Bundesliga defending champions at the end of his current contract.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich had been heavily linked with a transfer for the player during the recently concluded summer transfer window. Now, English clubs are also lining up a move for Tah in subsequent transfer windows.
Manchester United have just signed two center-backs this summer window – Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro. Between the Dutchman, the French youngster and Lisandro Martinez, they have three high-quality central defenders.
Should they sign the £25.2m valued player, they would have to let go of one of Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof if not both. Unless some other club makes a move for him in January, Man Utd can afford to wait until next summer.
It remains to be seen how this transfer pans out in the coming months. Jonathan Tah will be a good addition for Man Utd but he will not be without competition.
Unless we offer him an exciting project, the German might not want to move to Old Trafford and let’s see how it goes.
