If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are serious about signing Marko Arnautovic from Bologna at the earliest.
As per today’s version of Corriere della Serra (news image provided below), the 33-year-old center forward is tempted by the approach made by the Red Devils.
The Italian media outlet have mentioned that the Old Trafford outfit have contacted the brother-agent of the former Hammers star in order to strike a contract agreement.
It is reported that Man Utd have offered a contract that will make the player earn £2.5million per season, £7.5million plus bonuses in the next three years.
As far as the transfer fee is concerned, the last bid tabled by United is worth 9 million euros. Arnautovic’s agent and brother, Danijel, has stated:
“I’m in contact with Bologna to see if the deal can be done”.
The Austrian international started 32 games in the Serie A and scored 14 goals in the last campaign. On the other hand, Ronaldo netted 18 goals in 27 Premier League starts last term.
Man Utd lost their opening game of the season against Brighton at Old Trafford and it seems that now, they are in a panic-buying mode.
Man City and Liverpool managed to sign young strikers like Haaland and Nunez and the forwards were able to score more than 30 goals each in the 2021-22 campaign.
In reply, Ten Hag is trying to lure a veteran center forward, who is definitely past his best and might have been preparing for retirement when he decided to join Bologna.
In your opinion, should Man Utd sign Marko Arnautovic?
