Man Utd offer unmatchable deal to sign £43million star – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Another day, another report about Raphael Varane, who might be edging closer to leaving Real Madrid.

According to a story covered by Mundo Deportivo today (press image provided below), the Los Blancos’ priority is to hold on to the French international. However, they do not want a case like Ramos and will definitely not allow him to leave for free next year.

Transfer: Favorites Man Utd told £13million more would get signing done

In such a situation, the Spanish news source have mentioned that if the 28-year-old does not sign a new deal then he will be sold this summer.

The interesting aspect mentioned in the article is the asking price. Reports in Spain this month (ABC) have suggested that the La Liga giants would want a fee of 70 million euros to part ways with their prized asset.

However, Mundo Deportivo claim that he could be allowed to leave for as low as 50 million euros (£43million).

Varane has won every major domestic, European and international prize with Real Madrid and he is a World Champion with France. So, a £43million fee for someone, who is at the peak of his game and still has years left at the top level, should be considered as a massive bargain.

As far as the personal terms are concerned, MD claim that the Les Bleus central defender earns around 5.5 million euros a season (£90,000-a-week) and Man Utd have offered him an unmatchable deal worth 12 million euros a season.

It is stated that during the ongoing financial crisis, it is impossible for Real Madrid to match the offer presented by the Red Devils.

So, as per the latest updates, things are looking highly positive for Man Utd. Will Raphael Varane end up moving to Old Trafford this summer? We shall see.
