Man Utd offered £245,000 a week to sign star who wanted Old Trafford move – Report

Timo Werner Germany

Manchester United did sign Cristiano Ronaldo to reinforce their strike force in the summer but they need a center forward, who would serve the club in the long run. Martial is not good enough and Cavani is past his best.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils were looking to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig last year and even offered him a lucrative salary.

Transfer: Man United ready to agree terms with their £100,000 a week star – Report

According to The SPIEGEL (via Bild), Man Utd offered a deal worth 15 million euros a season i.e. £245,000 a week to sign the German international, who initially wanted to secure a move to Old Trafford.

The renowned media outlet have mentioned that even Liverpool were interested in the Kaiser but in the end, the striker decided to sign for Chelsea, who were managed by Frank Lampard at the time.

It is not explained why the 25-year-old center forward opted to move to the Stamford Bridge outfit. Man Utd offered him a much more lucrative contract as compared to the Blues, who agreed a deal worth £200,000 a week to get his signing done (Sky Sports)

The former Stuttgart man struggled in front of goal and only managed to find the net 6 times in 35 PL appearances last season. However, he did end up being a European Champion as Chelsea managed to win the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel.

This season, after the arrival of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan, Werner has mainly warmed the bench and has only started 2 games in the PL thus far.

In your view, who should Man Utd sign to improve their striking department?

  1. Just after six games and sancho had to start just two games utd are complaining. While last year when his transfer failed sancho lost form. He played eleven games for dortmund without goals and assist yet they didn’t bench him.after a short while he picked form. Dortmund chief worries just as fans are worried about the way utd are benching sancho. Ole give him full time to play.

  2. Sancho is a talented young player who is still in the phase of adapting to the new league and as such I feel it’s too early for us to conclude that he is not good enough yet he hasn’t played many games.

  3. Manu Board should sit down and sack Ole. Last season i said that ole will not win any trophy at Manu he likes experiments. Look at our squard and the money we have spent so far. Ole will be like lampard the club is big for him to manage plz wood sit down with executive there are good coaches who can handle our team very well.
Because if ole is serious he cannot be benching Sancho what is the purpose of buying good players like sancho. If Sancho can be benched then our board should think twice
Ronaldo is not a number nine but he can play like left or right wig
Meaning we have got good players wich can win eufa, epl,fa cup and efl now look at what ole is doing.
Our line up should be like this
    Degea
    Maguire
    Varane
    Shaw
    Mictory
    Paul p
    Ligard
    Sancho
    Ronaldo
    cavani

    Subs
    Mata
    Matic
    Victor
    Bally
    Vabeek
    Dolot
    Martial
    Greed wood
    Rashford
    Bruno
And others players to be on the bench
That’s the reason why on Saturday we had a lot injuries at the back because fred and Paul p cannot play together they are all slow
Let moctomry play alongaside with paul or matic with moctomry
That coach you call ole will not take Manu anyway will be always fighting for a champion place like these other small teams in epl without tittles so plz do like what Chelsea did this time around Chelsea is a good team.chelsea would have relegated if at all lampard is still a coach. Now what is the problem to our club stop nonse the board for Manu. You will kill us with bp so stop that nnonse and look for a good coach like luis enqurik zidane and Conte
