Manchester United have been linked with more than a few quality players even after the closure of the summer transfer window and the latest reports are intriguing.

According to an exclusive report covered by Le10Sport, Manchester United have moved in and opened talks with Brazilian side Flamengo to secure the signature of highly rated playmaker Lucas Paqueta in the winter transfer window.

The French source have mentioned that even PSG are seeking to hire the services of the Samba attacker, who made his debut for Brazil this month and so far, he has played 2 senior games for the Selecao. Even Liverpool have been interested in signing the 21-year-old (Andersinho Marques).

In the last campaign, Paqueta featured in 28 games in all competitions, scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists for Flamengo. He is naturally a central attacking midfielder but has the ability to play out wide on the flanks as well.

As far as Man United are concerned, they splashed the cash to sign Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last winter but did not improve their offense in the summer.

As per the provided Le10Sport link, United and PSG are mainly going to battle it out for the young playmaker.

The French outlet have claimed that Paqueta has got a release clause of 50 million euros (£44million) in his contract but a fee of 40 million euros could be enough to lure him. His current contract with the South American side will expire in 2020.
