Manchester United signed Casemiro from Real Madrid last summer and are now after the player who replaced the Brazilian at the Bernabeu.
As per today’s version of Sport (news image provided below), Erik ten Hag has asked the Old Trafford club to hire the services of Aurelien Tchouameni from the Los Blancos.
Transfer: Blow for Man Utd as £69million target agrees deal to move elsewhere – Report
The Catalan news source claim Man Utd are preparing an offer ‘very similar’ to the one Real Madrid paid exactly one year ago to sign him.
After winning the Champions League in 2022, the La Liga giants paid a guaranteed fee of £69m (80 million euros) and agreed a further 20 million euros in add-ons to lure the French international from AS Monaco (The Guardian).
So, if Sport are to be believed then Man Utd are looking to present an offer worth at least £69m for the 23-year-old midfielder.
Tchouameni’s current deal at the Bernabeu will expire in 2028 and he earns a salary of around £208,000 a week.
Madrid have recently renewed contracts of experienced midfielders, Modric and Kroos. Moreover, they have broken the bank to sign Three Lions star, Jude Bellingham.
Ancelotti has also got Valverde, Camavinga and Ceballos in the center of the park. Sport state the Spanish club would like to keep Tchouameni but market circumstances may force them to offload him.
The former Ligue 1 star was an important member of Didier Deschamps squad that reached the final of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ten Hag is keen on improving the No. 6 position at Old Trafford and even Sofyan Amrabat is on his wish-list.
In your view, who should Man Utd sign to strengthen the position? Should they offer £69m for Aurelien Tchouameni?
