Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

After losing out on Erling Haaland, Man United have been linked with numerous strikers and recent reports suggest that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is now a priority target for the summer transfer window.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, the Everton star has risen to the top of Man Utd’s summer hit list and the Red Devils are preparing a move to sign the striker, who would cost around £50million.

Transfer: Man Utd could move to sign £68million forward in January – Report

The 22-year-old center forward has already played over 100 games for the Toffees and this season, he has been in top form.

Last season, he only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions, however, in the current campaign, the England international has already netted 10 goals in just 16 starts for the Merseysiders.

Under the management of Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti, so far, Everton have won both their PL fixtures and netted three goals – all scored by Calvert-Lewin. Praising the in-form goalscorer, the three time Champions League winning manager said (BBC):

“He is a fantastic striker, in my opinion – fantastic with the head, clever in the box and sharp. I think he is going to be at the top in England and in Europe. He has all the qualities to be a top striker.”

Man Utd only scored 65 goals in the league last season (averaging 1.7 goals per game). In the summer, they sold their top scoring forward in the form of Romelu Lukaku and have missed the Belgian up front.

This term, so far, the Old Trafford club have netted just 32 goals in 20 Premier League fixtures (averaging 1.6 goals per game).

So, it will be fair to say that Ole Gunnar Solskjer should not wait for the summer transfer window because he really needs to improve his strike-force this month. In your view, is Dominic Calvert-Lewin good enough to strengthen Man Utd?
