Manchester United signed Cristiano Ronaldo to reinforce their strike-force in the summer transfer window and they also have Cavani in their ranks.

However, reports suggest that the Uruguayan could leave the club soon and in all fairness, the Red Devils need a young center forward, who would serve the club in the long run.

As per reports going on in the media, the Old Trafford outfit are looking to lure Argentine starlet, Julian Alvarez, who plays for River Plate.

According to TyC Sports, the 20-time English champions want the youngster and are ready to meet his representatives to strike the deal. It is claimed that the player will only be sold if his 20 million euros clause (£16.7million) and United are evaluating whether to pay that sum or not.

On the other hand, Spanish media outlet, Sport, have reported that Martial and Cavani could leave, so, Man Utd are preparing an offer for Alvarez and they would be willing to pay £16.7million to secure his signing. It is stated that his agent will travel to England this week in order to complete the transfer.

The 21-year-old striker has been in sensational form for River Plate in the current campaign. So far, in 17 league starts, he has netted 18 goals and provided 7 assists as well.

Alvarez has already made 5 appearances for the senior national side and he was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America 2021. However, he is yet to start for his country.
